Restaurants are Still Closed, but Food Trucks are Open!

The food industry is working hard to keep up with the ever-evolving COVID-19 situation, restaurants are closed but food truck owners can be comforted to know that they will still be able to conduct business, as usual, this summer season.

Throughout Canada and the US, different provinces and states have been allowing food trucks to start operating for the summer season. The great thing about this is that food trucks can operate at full capacity while maintaining social distancing – unlike restaurants that must operate at a 30%-50% capacity. Being able to serve customers in an outdoor environment reduces the spread of potential COVID-19 exposure which is another benefit for food trucks this summer.

Vancouver food trucks will be allowed to set up at truck stops, without paying the usual fees, which is a great opportunity for independent food truck owners to get ahead after a very difficult few months. In Toronto, food trucks and ice cream trucks can resume and operate the same way they have previous summers.

The future is looking bright for food truck owners – and we expect to see many restauranteurs expanding their business to the food truck model for extra revenue. We have food trucks for rent and for sale – if you want more information or have any questions, please give us a call.
